🔎 Overview
The first Community Pick comes from @massibarozzi. He takes us to breathtaking Tuscany, a place you shouldn’t hesitate to visit. 🙌
His tour starts from the suggestive “tombolo della Giannella”, that separates the Orbetello lagoon from the sea. It continues along the nature trail that runs along the Orbetello lagoon to the Feniglia tombolo (sandy isthmus) and its reserve, with kilometres of unspoilt Mediterranean scrub and pine forest.
You then reach the Ansedonia hill, skirt the charming Lake Burano -a WWF protected area- and then, you finally enter the “Maremma Capalbiese” and arrive at the foot of mount Monteti and Lake Acquato. From here, we ride along a short paved road with little traffic and cross a shadowy wood until we reach the banks of the Albegna river where nature is unspoilt and wild.
The tour shows the various facets of the Maremma, its sea and its ancient history where brigands and labourers have left indelible marks.
